What You Need
Making breaded shrimp in an air fryer is a delicious and simple meal that can be prepared in a relatively short amount of time. To begin, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1/2 pound of large, raw shrimp, peeled and deveined.
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour.
- 1/2 cup of plain breadcrumbs.
- 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder.
- 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder.
- 1/4 teaspoon of paprika.
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten.
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Step 1: Preheat the Air Fryer
Before beginning, preheat the air fryer to 400° F. This will help ensure that the shrimp cook evenly. Allow the air fryer to preheat for approximately 5 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare the Shrimp
In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and black pepper. Mix the ingredients together until they are thoroughly combined. In a separate bowl, lightly beat the eggs.
Dip the shrimp into the egg mixture and then coat them with the flour and breadcrumb mixture. Place the shrimp onto a plate and set aside.
Step 3: Cook the Shrimp
Add the olive oil to the air fryer and place the shrimp on the cooking basket. Cook the shrimp for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, remove the basket from the air fryer and turn the shrimp over. Return the basket to the air fryer and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
Once the shrimp are golden brown, they are ready to be served. Enjoy!
