How to Make 5 Gallons of Cold Brew Coffee
Ingredients
To make 5 gallons of cold brew coffee, you will need:
- 2 lbs of coarsely ground coffee
- 8 gallons of filtered water
- Large bucket or container with lid
- Large coffee filter or cheese cloth
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Coffee
Take the 2 lbs of coarsely ground coffee and add it to the large bucket or container. Make sure that the coffee is evenly distributed on the bottom of the container.
Step 2: Add the Water
Slowly pour 8 gallons of filtered water into the container and stir the mixture with a wooden spoon. Make sure that all of the coffee grounds are completely soaked in the water.
Step 3: Let the Coffee Steep
Cover the container with a lid and let the coffee steep for 12-18 hours. The longer you let it steep, the stronger the flavor will be.
Step 4: Filter the Coffee
After the coffee has finished steeping, it’s time to filter it. Line a large colander with a coffee filter or cheese cloth and slowly pour the coffee mixture into it. The liquid that passes through the filter is your cold brew coffee.
Step 5: Enjoy!
Your cold brew coffee is now ready to enjoy! You can drink it as-is or add cream, sugar, or other flavorings. Enjoy!
